Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles – Traffic

I promise you there is a review of Gossamer coming from me; I even sort of have a framework for the review, but I haven’t sat down to write it yet. Album reviews are much more time-intensive for me instead of the posts where I point out a song I think is awesome. It’s not that I haven’t had time necessarily, it’s just that I haven’t felt an overwhelming urge to put my thoughts into adequate words. Without rambling any longer, this post is one of those posts where I point out an awesome song.

I hadn’t heard of Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles until last night. Now, I’m pretty sure that I’m going to see them on Sunday. They came by way of recommendation and knowing the tastes of the referrer, I had a pretty good inclination that I would like them.

Here on Traffic with the cello and the accordion and the uke and the clapping, I had a lot of elements that I like going for me and wouldn’t you know it, they meshed really well together.

If you’re in Denver, come join me Sunday. If not, here’s their Facebook at least.
