2013 has been a respectable year for music so far, and with all of the exciting albums expected to drop in the coming months, it seems unlikely that this will change. Still, there haven’t been many dream-pop releases memorable enough to make a mark on 2013 – until now. Meet Bora York, a hypnotic group based in Minneapolis and fueled by the creative energy of Chris Bartels. After spending past years on a diverse set of music projects (ranging everywhere from releasing a solo record to launching an independent record label), Bartels turned his attention toward his latest brainchild over the last year; the result is Dreaming Free, the debut album from Bora York that is set for a March 22 release. “Open Tales” is the third single from the album, and like its predecessors “Waterfall” and “Close Your Eyes,” this song has already been grabbing the attention of listeners and critics alike across the country – surely just a small taste of what’s to come for Bora York.
