3oNe3 – Can't Wait
I didn’t know of any Mizzou music or the strength of the music scene at the school until recently. Actually, I didn’t know anything coming out of Columbia, Missouri besides Chase Daniels, Sean Weatherspoon, and Blaine Gabbert. Forgive my ignorance right now. So my knowledge was limited to college football. While I kind of wanted to see the university join the Big Ten, we’re apparently stopping at 12 and the conference is happy with just Nebraska. I don’t know–I think the University of Missouri would have been a good fit. Anyways, 3oNe3 is one of reasons that I’m taking more notice of Mizzou music and you should, too.
Their music (3oNe3′s) came to me as the second email I received from a Mizzou act this week. I couldn’t remember the other artist and now can’t find the email. But if you want to trust a person who somehow loses virtual correspondence, you can trust me that the Mizzou music scene seems strong.
3oNe3 is a three-man group that mixes hip hop, pop, and alternative. The band’s members are Josh Teasley (aka SexyFlexy), Cliff David and Tyler Filmore. They’re named after the room where Josh and Cliff roomed. They’ve been starting to get blog buzz because of their single Kassel. The track is pretty awesome and captures their alternative influences. You can check it at Youtube. But I’m featuring Can’t Wait because I’m feeling it.
Can’t Wait is chill, hip hop pop track that shows the range of the group’s sound when compared with Kassel. It’s the second single off of their upcoming mixtape Love, Live, Life following up Kassel.
