Air feat. Victoria Legrand – Seven Stars

I feel like it was only yesterday that Beach House released Teen Dream. I, like many other people, fell hard for that album. Lead singer Vicoria Legrand’s voice was what really hooked me. Like smoke curling into clear air, it’s simultaneously delicate and heavy.

“Seven Stars” also plays off the juxtaposition of lightness and heaviness. Legrand and Nicolas Grodin’s airy vocals stand out beautifully against the rumbling background.

Oh, and synths! This wouldn’t be an Air song without some nice, spiky synths to make things fun.

I already like Air (“Sexy Boy” is one of my favorite songs), so this collaboration has put me in the best mood. In a perfect world, each song on their new album would feature Vicoria Legrand. Or Legrand could join Air as a permanent member! Better yet, Legrand could join every band. EVERY BAND.

As much as that idea makes sense to me, it’ll probably never happen. Then again, never say never.
