Here’s a melody that will stay with you long after the song is over. Fairchild Republic’s “Arcadia” is one of four songs set for release on their new EP Arcadia, due out March 25. Uniting dazzling guitar riffs with a snappy beat and deep vocals, this Australian six-piece manages to carve out their own sound on “Arcadia” while simultaneously bringing to mind a few of their self-cited influences, including fellow Australian alt-rockers The Temper Trap and England’s Foals.
This latest EP comes on the heels of the band’s first full-length album, 2012’s Wish Upon a Paper Crane, and nearly three years after their debut EP Ships are for Sailing. Fairchild Republic’s upcoming release brings together four of the band’s masterfully penned tracks from last year’s album in a confident move that both reinforces their distinct sound and keeps them moving forward as a group.
