Great Horned Owl – Seven Years

Portland is over 1200 miles away from me in Denver, but is a whole lot closer in its appeal. My last post highlighted Hosannas, another Portland band, and this time I’m highlighting the indie folk of Great Horned Owl.
However, unlike their Portland brethren Hosannas, Great Horned Owl is on the depressing side of the happiness scale. At least, in the case of Seven Years. Great Horned Owl is releasing an EP each month, Painted Moon is the latest and the one on which Seven Years appears. The accompanying description is actually what initially drew me in–”On a foggy March night, I gazed upon a full moon; and in that moment I lived a thousand lifetimes. These songs represent the lives that I lived.”
That led me to listen to the EP and Seven Years sort of stuck with me. Check it out and like on Facebook.
