Who’s got a case of the Monday’s? I most certainly do. I’ve got just the right stuff to make your lame Monday feel like a highly anticipated Friday.
I’ve written about Jhameel a few times. The last time I wrote about him, I introduced his Waves series which was set to premiere a new song every Tuesday for a consecutive five Tuesday’s. Quite honestly, I was a little weary about writing about Jhameel again. I just figured Waves would be a different version of the same song over and over again. The final installment of the Waves series was introduced to Jhameel fans last Tuesday. Now having listened through the whole series, my thoughts of Waves were proven horribly wrong but in the most musically pleasing way.
Each song in this series has its own spunky personality with upbeat tempos and moments of tranquility in between; all of the aforementioned wrapped around a slew of lyrics leaving you asking for more Jhameel. If you listen to the series in the order that it was released, you’ll see exactly what I’m referring to.
Though I love the upbeat tunes in all four of the first tracks, my favorite was the acoustic Pursuit of Glory, the final installment to the series. Don’t get me wrong, I love my fair share of acoustic songs but at the same time a lot of them sound the same – one guy or girl with their acoustic guitar singing a slower version of their fans’ favorite song. As lovely as that is, Pursuit of Glory is much more than that. It’s like an acoustic song on speed, but in the best possible way.
If you’re one of the few people left in the world that enjoy purchasing physical versions of music (as am I) then today’s definitely your lucky day because pre-sale orders for the physical version of Waves start today, that’s right… today! Either way, you can download a free digital copy of the series here.
