The summer’s slowly winding down and autumn is right around the corner. With that comes the constant reminiscing of memorable summer moments; that feeling alone deserves a soundtrack and I may have found just that.
Chicago-based new wave quartet California Wives just released a track, Blood Red Youth, from their debut full length album Art History, which is due out September 4 with Vagrant Records.
I didn’t know what I would write about this track when I first heard it, and I still have no clue what to say except that I know I like it. The last 30 seconds kick it up and make me want to press play for the 5th time this morning. It’s the perfect song for a mellow Monday morning. How about that alliteration there?
If you like what you hear, California Wives is headed on tour this September with STARS and Diamond Rings. You can find the dates on their site.
