Sikiyou – Twigs and Stones

Siskiyou is preparing to release their sophomore effort, Keep Away the Dead and Twigs and Stones is the first single to whet our appetites for the group’s new music. The third track off the upcoming release was made available a few weeks and it’s been burning in the back of my consciousness since Sam at Folk Hive featured it.

It’s got a pleasant acoustic intro that doesn’t hint to much at the onset. Wait for it. Listen to the horn arrangements. Colin Stetson contributes trumpet, trombone, french horn and sax on Twigs and Stones. Once it builds to this point, I’m hooked. And the track stays with you like a pleasant aftertaste.
