Supersonic is my favorite Oasis song of all time. There’s certainly plenty of good songs in their songbook to choose as a favorite but the screaming guitars hook me every time. It’s funny, actually, how I’ve emphasized lyrics with some of the other songs so far but these are nonsensical lyrics at best and gibberish at worst. And that’s alright by me.

I think what’s lost in the Cain/Abel, I mean, Noel/Liam conflicts is how good Oasis once was. Up until the recent breakup, they could still hit a home run on a song or two on each album. The problem was that nothing was ever going to compare to Definitely Maybe, a near certain pick if I had to put together a top ten of the 90′s. That’s how great I think it was.

Unfortunately, people’s expectations wouldn’t always let them enjoy what Oasis was doing. For example, Girl In The Dirty Shirt is a pretty underrated song in my opinion but it’ll never get mentioned. I guess that’s the curse of being so great so early.

I guess I should lead the pack of the disappointed because my favorite Oasis song was their first single. I could look at it as all downhill from there but that’s not the case. I’m happy to go and listen through the entire catalog; I love music too much to have expectations of what I’m supposed to hear.
