I’m not going to lie; my listening this week has been consumed by The Lumineers. I cannot get enough of that album. And so I’ve been neglecting submissions a little bit but I was intrigued by a Czech band that made it’s way into the inbox. I was pleasantly surprised by the music and the music video for Charlie Straight’s latest single, Coco.
The four-piece from Prague is made up of Albert Cerny, Jan Cienciala, Pavel Pilch, and Michal Šupákhas. They have Britpop vibes surrounded by a wall of sound. The oh’s and Coco’s may seem repetitive to some but it strikes the right balance for me.
Coco was originally released in late 2011. Here’s the Charlie Straight Facebook page. Hope you enjoy the music.
