We Were Promised Jetpacks – It's Thunder And It's Lightning
In another life, I want to be Scottish. Everyone would have to use the word brogue when talking about my accent. I could be brooding, strong, and silent in my sleep. I would say that the blood of Old Tom Morris runs through my veins. And I could wear plaid without thinking about fashion. I don’t think I’m helping the world by perpetrating stereotypes but I find these things endearing about old Scotia. Getting to it already, I’m talking about Scotland because of We Were Promised Jetpacks.
I happened to randomly stumble upon the four-piece hailing from Edinburgh and I was really into the sound. Their debut album, These Four Walls, was released last June and they released an EP earlier this year. They’re touring in the U.S. right now.
I know I’m a little late in recognizing them but I’m always a little late recognizing and getting into the indie flavor of the week. Plus, I don’t the world needs another write-up on Avery Tare’s Lucky 1. Rather, I’ll focus on It’s Thunder And It’s Lightning. I think it’s a spectacular indie rock song. And because it is, I’m going to enjoy it this Monday; I hope that you do, too.
